SUBSTANCE: described is a group of inventions comprising a double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA), which functions upon absorption by the type of pest insect with inhibition of target gene expression in said insect pest, a DNA construct for expression of said dsRNA, a host cell, a composition for preventing or combating insect attack, use of the composition for preventing and/or combating pest attack, use of the composition as a pesticide for plants, method for inhibiting the expression of a target gene in a type of pest insect in order to prevent and/or combat pest attack, use of a dsRNA, a DNA construct or a composition for preventing or combating an attack of an insect pest, and a kit, containing a dsRNA, a DNA construct or a composition for preventing or combating an attack of an insect pest and one suitable diluent or carrier.

EFFECT: invention extends the range of agents for inhibiting expression of a target gene in insect pests.
