SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a method for controlling infection of a plant Leptinotarsa decemlineata, comprising using a polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence which is complementary to at least 21 adjacent nucleotide of the target gene Leptinotarsa decemlineata. Also disclosed is an insecticide composition for controlling Leptinotarsa decemlineata, comprising a polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence which is complementary to at least 21 adjacent nucleotide of the target gene Leptinotarsa decemlineata. Invention also relates to a recombinant DNA construct for inducing mortality or slowing growth Liptinotarsa decemlineata, comprising a heterologous promoter operably linked to DNA containing a nucleotide sequence, which is complementary to at least 21 adjacent nucleotide of the target gene Leptinotarsa decemlineata, as well as to a vector, a nightshade plant cell and a transgenic plant containing said construct.
EFFECT: invention allows effective control of plant infection Leptinotarsa decemlineata.
