FIELD: chemistry; physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to create semiconductor gas sensors and portable autonomous analysers for detecting formaldehyde in air. Essence of invention consists in that sensitive layer for determining formaldehyde in air is material containing nanocrystalline indium oxide (In2O3), surface of which is modified with bimetallic nanoparticles (Ag + Au) of size of not more than 25 nm with equal ratio of metals in molar proportions, with following ratio of components: bimetallic particles (Ag + Au) - 1–3 wt. %, indium oxide (In2O3) is the rest.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of operating temperature of sensor, reduced power consumption of sensor.
