DIAGNOSTIC METHOD OF DISCOORDINATION OF CHEWING MUSCULATURE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/488

Abstract RU 2723613 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to diagnosis. To assess the discoordination of the temporal-chewing muscles, electroneuromyographic parameters are recorded simultaneously with chewing and temporal muscles on both sides: in a state of relative physiological rest; with maximum volitional contraction in occlusion; at maximum volitional compression of two standard cotton rollers with diameter of 10 mm located on boundary between second premolars and first molars symmetrically on both sides; with voluntary will compression of dentures in habitual occlusion. Total level of symmetry of temporal and mastoid muscles is evaluated by comparing the normative total symmetry coefficient of the temporal and mastication muscles with the calculated value determined by the original formula, and summary activity of temporomandibular muscles by comparing normative sum with its calculated value, which is determined by original formula.

EFFECT: method provides higher information value and accuracy of assessing the level of discoordination of temporal-chewing muscles by enlarging the spectrum and representativeness of electroneuromyographic characteristics of functioning of chewing musculature, provides wide possibilities for use of automation and computerization of diagnostic process due to comparative numerical estimation of design and normative parameters.
