SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to a method for predicting the clinical course of type 2 diabetes mellitus using an oral glucose-lowering therapy based on assessing the variability of glycemia. Method comprises daily monitoring of blood glucose 7 time points for 3 days, calculating average during observation coefficient of variation (CV) of glycemia and if value of CV<30 % predicting favorable course of type 2 diabetes mellitus and positive effect of therapy, and with CV>30 % prediction of unstable clinical course of diabetes mellitus and high risk of hypoglycemic conditions.

EFFECT: method provides a quantitative assessment in order to increase its accuracy, wider range of means for assessing the course of the disease and the effectiveness of the therapy in patients suffering type 2 diabetes mellitus.
