SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for prediction of severe preeclampsia (PE) in pregnancy in females, carriers of mutation of prothrombin gene (factor 2), genotype G20210A, by prothrombin activity detection in gestation period of 7–8 weeks. A method for predicting preeclampsia involves determining prothrombin activity by using substrate-deficient plasma, and if observing prothrombin activity >180 %, provided that 100 % corresponds to plasma 1 IU/ml prothrombin concentration, a risk of developing severe preeclampsia.

EFFECT: method enables providing more accurate prediction of developing severe preeclampsia.
