FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, in particular, to motor industry, and can be used in making structural components of ground vehicles, including trucks and buses, such as vehicles bumpers, having protective function, decorative design function. Method of making bumper consists in forming a model, coating the model with a separating agent, applying a number of layers of prepreg from basalt fabric onto the model, applying a perforated film and then absorbing layer. Then model is placed with layers of prepreg in vacuum bag and pump is connected. Model is placed in the furnace under influence of temperature and pressure. First, it is heated in furnace to 75 °C at article heating rate of 1.5–2 °C/minute and held at this temperature for 30 minutes. Then it is further heated to 120 °C at heating rate of 1.5 °C/minute, with holding at temperature of 120 °C for 30 minutes. After that, it is cooled at a rate of not more than 3 °C/minute to ambient temperature. Further, model with made bumper is cooled down. All operations provide creation of vacuum from 0.8 to 0.99 atm. Finished bumper is subjected to machining.
EFFECT: obtaining an article having improved strength characteristics with considerable (up to 40 %) weight reduction.
