FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pneumatic hammer. Hammer comprises cylindrical housing, working tool retained relative to cylindrical housing, tube and hammer with through axial channel to pass said tube, dividing cavity of cylindrical housing into working stroke chamber and idle stroke chamber on side of working tool. On side surface of hammer there is bypass channel in form of through inclined flat with variable cross section and constantly open outlets on both ends of striker on side of working and idling chambers with constant communication of both chambers with each other. Cross-section area of the bypass channel decreases from the open exit of the through flat to the end face of the striker on the side of the working stroke chamber to the open output of the through flat on the end face of the striker on the side of the idle stroke chamber.
EFFECT: result is reduced air consumption, increased energy of impact transmitted to working tool.
