FIELD: medicine; veterinary.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science and medicine, in particular to a method for isolating helminth eggs by a flotation method. Method is characterized by adding 10-15 ml of water to preliminarily milled 1–3 grams of naturally invaded faeces, stirring and filtering. Obtained solution is centrifuged for 1 minute at 1,500 rpm; after that, the supernatant is drained and the floatation solution is added in amount of 5–7 ml, mixed and centrifuged for 2–3 minutes at 2,000 rpm. Test tube is inverted to prevent dissolution of the suspension, and a liquid is collected from the center of the test tube, the McMaster's chamber is filled and the helminth eggs are counted using a counting scale. Flotation solution contains the following components: potassium bromide, formalin, aluminum chloride and water.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables reducing turbidity of the analyzed suspension, improving diagnostic effectiveness.
