METHOD FOR DETERMINING RISK OF DEVELOPING OSTEOPENIA IN GIRLS 18-25 YEARS OLD, LIVING IN NORTHERN REGIONS AND EQUATED TERRITORIES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01N33/50

Abstract RU 2723942 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention enables girls 18–25 years old, living in northern regions and equated to them territories, to predict development of osteopenia by blood serum concentration of 1.25(OH)2-D and C-terminal telopeptide collagen I, with subsequent evaluation of obtained results according to a given algorithm. Method involves Osteodensitometry and blood serum biochemical tests. Osteodensitometry is carried out by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, mineral density of skeleton segments is evaluated. Blood serum is used to detect and analyze concentration of vitamin 1.25(OH)2-D and C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen. In case osteodensitometry data do not indicate presence of osteopenia with simultaneous detection of vitamin 1.25(OH)2-D concentration lower than 19.2 pg/ml and concentration of C-terminal telopeptide of collagen type I above 0.338 ng/ml, respondent is considered to be a risk group of developing osteopenia.

EFFECT: method can be used for prevention and prevention of bone mass loss in girls aged 18–25 living in northern regions and equated territories.
