FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine area, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used for osteoporosis risk grouping followed by preventive monitoring. Method provides accurate prediction of osteoporosis risk in children. Osteodensitometry is carried out, children and teenagers with functional osteopenia are selected. Blood serum is tested for proteolytic enzyme activity. If cathepsin L-homogenous activity is detected exceeding 0.386 nmol/ml per minute, high level of preosteoporosis is registered and patients are considered to belong to risk group.
EFFECT: provided accurate prediction of osteoporosis risk in children.
