SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device (1) and a method of classifying valuable documents, as well as to a valuable document processing system with such a device. At least two sensor devices (2, 3) are configured to detect reflected from the front side and from the rear side of the valuable document waves, primarily electromagnetic waves, and generate the corresponding sensor data (8) or register the properties of the valuable document at least in two different areas of the valuable document by means of different measurement principles and generate the corresponding sensor data (8). At least one analysing device (4, 5) is arranged to classify a valuable document based on sensor data (8) generated by at least two sensor devices (2, 3), which are related to reflected from the front side and the back side of the valuable document to waves or to registered in at least two different areas of the valuable document by means of various measurement principles properties of the valuable document.
EFFECT: disclosed is a device and a method of classifying valuable documents, primarily banknotes, as well as a valuable document processing system.
