FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for purifying air from volatile organic compounds (VOCs), in particular amines, specifically to a method for purifying air from diethylamine. The method of air purification from diethylamine by its adsorption and complete oxidation includes contacting air with a catalyst during heating. As a catalyst, a system based on lanthanum cobaltite of the formula LaCoO3 with a perovskite structure deposited on a carrier (zirconium oxide doped with lanthanum) is used, characterized by a porous structure with a specific surface area of 72 m2/g, a mesopore volume of 0.183 cm3/g. The ratio of components, wt.%: LaCoO3 - 20, the rest is the carrier. Next, air containing diethylamine impurities is contacted with a catalyst during microwave heating of the catalyst layer with a radiation power and frequency of 50 W and 3.8 GHz, respectively, at a temperature of 100-200°C and volumetric feed rate of raw materials 6000 h-1.
EFFECT: complete purification (100%) of air from diethylamine and reduction of process temperature to 100°C due to the adsorption of diethylamine at this temperature and its complete oxidation when the temperature rises to 200°C, which is significantly lower compared to the prototype due to the use of microwave heating of the catalyst composition LaCoO3 (20%)/ZrO2-La.
