FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to thermal modification of wood. Wood is dried at medium temperature up to 130 °C in a vacuum. Then, wood is dried at medium temperature 130...150 °C at atmospheric pressure. Medium temperature is gradually decreased from 150 °C to 130 °C at atmospheric pressure. Then medium temperature in vacuum is gradually reduced. Wood is heated at excess pressure, modified from 1.5 hours with three or more cycles of two-stage pressure change from excess to atmospheric and vice versa with holding at each pressure. Temperature is gradually lowered to 50 °C and less during 6–12 hours at atmospheric pressure. Plant (2) consists of sealed chamber (1), fan (14) and furnace. In furnace compartment (5) there are smoke pipes of steam superheater (4) connected to water source. To maintain excess pressure and vacuum in chamber there is an adjustable bypass valve or shutoff valve (7), and for vacuum creation—vacuum pump (8). In the lower part of the chamber there is perforated pipe (9) or nozzles connected to a steam superheater.
EFFECT: reduced duration of heat treatment of wood.
