FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electrochemical oxidation of alcohols to nitriles, involving preliminary preparation of a reaction mixture consisting of an oxidised alcohol, an aqueous solution of sodium hydrogencarbonate, an organic solvent in form of chloride methylene, potassium iodide, nitroxyl radical of 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine, pyridine, as well as addition of ammonium fluoride as nitrogen source, electrolysis at 25–30 °C, which is completed after passing 5 F of electricity.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of energy and labor costs, creation of a method which enables to obtain nitriles in a single step, at room temperature and atmospheric pressure without preliminary isolation of intermediate products.
