FIELD: pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical-pharmaceutical industry, in particular to a method for determining moisture content of air-dry medicinal herbal raw materials of essential oil plants of Apium family. Method for moisture content determination of air-dry medicinal herbal raw materials of essential oil plants of Apium family using infrared thermogravimetric method, including weighing of raw material sample, grinding in laboratory mill, sifting through a sieve, distributing a sample along the cuvette, drying to a constant mass, the fruits are milled into particles sized 1 mm, sifted through a sieve with holes diameter of 1 mm and thoroughly mixed; hinge 4.5±0.5 g is distributed over the surface of the bottom of the metal cuvette with a uniform layer, wherein temperature in drying chamber of device in standby mode must not exceed 25 °C and dried to constant weight at temperature of 105 °C, determining in automatic mode moisture content of herbal raw material.
EFFECT: method described above enables to significantly reduce the time for determining moisture content of medicinal raw material, significantly reduce labor input, reduce energy consumption and reduce relative error of determination.
