FIELD: data transmission systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a data transmission system for devices with rotating parts. Data transmission system through the rotary joint consists of a receiving part and a transmitting part, as well as a hollow circular waveguide made in at least one metal structure located between the receiving and transmitting parts of the system. Each of the receiving and transmitting parts includes a printed-circuit board with a transceiver and a connected to it metamaterial carrier waveguide. Metamaterial waveguide represents a waveguide with an EBG-structure located around it on the printed-circuit board. Said at least one metal structure is spaced apart from each of said printed circuit boards. Data transmission system is configured to transmit data by said metamaterial waveguides and hollow circular waveguide.
EFFECT: reduction of weight and dimensions, improvement of reliability of data transfer system through rotary joints with provision of high speed of data transfer.
