FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat-insulating plate (1), preferably overlay plate (5a; b), in particular for heat insulation of molten metals, in particular steel melting, in metallurgical vessel (6), to method of plate (1) production and its application. Plate (1) comprises binding matrix (2) from at least one cured temporary organic binder and granular aggregate (3), containing and/or consisting of biogenic silicic acid, preferably with and/or rice hull ash, which is integrated into binding matrix (2).
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing good heat insulation, minimum dust load and ease of application.
