METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING HIGH-TEMPERATURE PLASMA WITH MAGNETIC STABILIZATION OF Z-PINCH Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC H05H1/02

Abstract RU 2725439 C1

FIELD: plasma technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma engineering, and in particular to methods of producing stabilized high-temperature plasma, and can be used for construction of pulse-periodic thermonuclear reactor, heat generators, as well as pulsed neutron, X-ray and ultraviolet radiation sources. In the method of producing stabilized high-temperature plasma, in which two metal electrodes are placed with a gap, where a longitudinal magnetic field pulse is generated, as well as during the time period of said magnetic field pulse generating a longitudinal electric field pulse, by means of which a plasma ionized plasma is formed in the gap, wherein current in it creates magnetic field, providing compression of plasma cord due to effect of pulsed z-pinch. In apparatus for producing stabilized high-temperature plasma, which comprises pulse energy source, pulse shaper and plasma chamber with axisymmetric electrodes, wherein the electrodes are located with a gap on one axis inside the plasma chamber, and the device also comprises a solenoid and a magnetic field control unit configured to generate in the pulse gap a longitudinal magnetic field, wherein pulsed energy source and pulse former are made with possibility of generation in pulse gap of longitudinal electric field forming in the gap of completely ionized plasma cord, current value in which provides compression of plasma cord due to pulsed z-pinch effect, wherein electric field longitudinal pulse shaper is synchronized with magnetic field control unit, with possibility of formation of pulse of longitudinal pulse of electric field during action in gap of magnetic field pulse, formed by means of solenoid and magnetic field control unit.

EFFECT: wider range of methods and apparatus for producing stabilized high-temperature plasma.
