FIELD: wood-cutting tool.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wood-cutting tools and can be used in furniture production. Milling cutter comprises cylinder-like body on outer surface of which there are asymmetrically arranged cutting elements and grooves for removal of chips, which between adjacent cutting elements are made in form of two sections located along two surfaces of cutting and conjugated in place of intersection of cutting surfaces, in which between adjacent cutting elements there is an inclined chip flute extending to the outer surface of the cutter body. Grooves are made with transverse profile in form of smoothly conjugated rounded section in zone of conjugation of side part of groove with plane of cutting, middle flattened chip braking section and aerodynamic surface located on the opposite side of the groove. Shape of said surface provides direction of incident air flow to area of chip collection in area of conjugation of grooves and displacement of chips from cutting zone outside on chip flute surface.

EFFECT: improved removal of chips, reduced noise during machining, higher durability of tool.
