FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of hollow shafts. Performing fixation of hollow shaft billet with possibility of its rotation and longitudinal movement, local shaping of billet peripheral part, control and adjustment of shaft production process parameters by means of control and measuring equipment and control unit. Local shaping of billet peripheral part is performed by means of rolling tools and then its boring and grinding.

EFFECT: control of geometrical parameters of workpiece is performed by means of control and measuring equipment simultaneously with control of workpiece movement with possibility of automatic adjustment of parameters of movement of cutting and grinding tools to achieve specified geometric characteristics of finished product, resulting in improved quality of hollow shafts.
