FIELD: chemistry; manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polylactides which can be used in various fields of science, engineering, medicine and the national economy. Method involves polymerisation of lactides with opening of a cycle (ROP) in a melt in the presence of a ROP catalyst and a cocatalyst. Method is carried out in the temperature range of 100–185 °C with thermal provision of the temperature mode in the reaction space by microwave (super-high-frequency) irradiation of the reaction space. ROP catalyst used is organometallic compound 1-hydroxygermatrane monohydrate, and the cocatalyst used is lauryl alcohol.
EFFECT: method provides high efficiency of the end product due to reduction of polymerisation time, high thermal efficiency of the process, as well as obtaining a less toxic product.
