SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol delivery device. The device comprises a control housing sequentially engaged with the cartridge, wherein the cartridge has an aerosol precursor source containing the aerosol precursor and defining a mouthpiece hole configured to direct the aerosol through it to the user. The heating device is operatively engaged with the cartridge, the heating device comprising an electrically conductive carbon element disposed adjacent the thermally conductive substrate. The heating device is configured to receive an aerosol precursor from an aerosol precursor source onto a thermally conductive substrate such that the aerosol precursor on the thermally conductive substrate forms an aerosol when heated by an electrically conductive carbon element passed through the thermally conductive substrate.

EFFECT: increase in heating rate with reduced energy consumption to increase the service life of the power source.
