SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for prediction of the risk of a severe undesirable cardiac event or death in an individual, who suffers acute myocardial infarction (AMI), including determining the level of protachykinin or its fragments in body total body water and establishing a correlation of said level of protachykinin or fragments thereof with a risk of developing a severe undesired cardiac event or death. Group of inventions also relates to the use of a binding molecule which binds protachykinin or fragments thereof with sequences selected from the group of SEQ ID NO: 2–12, in said method.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides a method for predicting a risk of a severe undesirable cardiac event or death in an individual suffering AMI.
