FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst composition for transalkylation of feedstock containing aromatic hydrocarbons, which contains a carrier and one or more metal components deposited on a support, wherein said carrier contains (i) mordenite in amount of 30 to 70 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier, and mordenite has molar ratio of silicon dioxide to aluminum oxide from 15 to 60; (ii) ZSM-5-type zeolite in amount of 15 to 60 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier, and zeolite type ZSM-5 has molar ratio of silicon dioxide to aluminum oxide from 5 to 50 and average particle size from 5 to 50 nm; and (iii) an inorganic binder in amount of 10 to 40 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier; and wherein one or more metal components contain group 10 metal. Invention also relates to a method of producing the disclosed catalyst composition and to a method for transalkylation of feedstock, containing aromatic hydrocarbons using composition as catalyst.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining benzene of higher purity.
