FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to catalytic compositions exhibiting an improved capacity for adsorbing catalyst poisons from hydrocarbon streams. Described is a catalytic composition for removing impurities from a hydrocarbon stream, containing a first zeolite with the BEA* framework structure type and a second zeolite with the MOR framework structure type and a surface area of mesopores determined by the BET method for more than 30 m2/g, wherein said first zeolite is zeolite beta, said second zeolite is EMM-34, and the ratio of the amount of said first zeolite and the amount of said second zeolite is in the range from 90:10 to 50:50 as calculated for the weight of the catalytic composition.
EFFECT: creation of catalytic compositions exhibiting an improved capacity for adsorbing catalyst poisons from hydrocarbon streams, especially from streams of raw material, used in methods for producing monoalkylated aromatic compounds, such as benzene and ethylene, executed using zeolite-based alkylation catalysts, thus, the duration of the operation cycle of such alkylation catalysts is increased.
