SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst composition, a method for production thereof and a method of transalkylation of a feedstock containing alkylaromatic hydrocarbons using a catalyst composition. Catalytic composition for transalkylation of a feedstock containing alkylaromatic hydrocarbons contains (a) a carrier containing (i) a zeolite of type CON in amount of 5 to 95 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier, (ii) zeolite type ZSM-5 in amount of 5 to 95 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier; and (iii) an inorganic binder selected from the group consisting of aluminum oxide, gamma-aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide, silicon dioxide-aluminum dioxide, bentonite, kaolin, titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, cerium dioxide, gallium oxide, clinoptilolite, montmorillonite and any mixture thereof, in amount of 10 to 40 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier; and (b) from 0.1 to 10 wt % of one or more metals, selected from the group consisting of tungsten, vanadium, molybdenum, rhenium, nickel, cobalt, chrome, manganese, platinum and palladium. Method of producing the catalyst composition involves the following steps: (a) mixing zeolite of type CON, zeolite of type ZSM-5 and inorganic binder and extruding the obtained mixture, (b) optionally subjecting extrudates obtained at step (a), heat treatment, (c) impregnating the extrudates with a solution containing one or more metals selected from the group consisting of tungsten, vanadium, molybdenum, rhenium, nickel, cobalt, chromium, manganese, platinum and palladium, and (d) optionally subjecting the impregnated extrudates obtained at step (c) to heat treatment.
EFFECT: technical result is higher conversion of methyl ethyl benzene in transalkylation and production of product, having low ratio of ethylbenzene to total amount of aromatic compounds having 8 carbon atoms, with relatively high xylene yield and relatively high complete conversion.
