FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to treatment of rotation bodies by surface plastic deformation. Processing of rotating cylindrical part by indenter, which rotates around its axis and performs high-speed reciprocating strokes. Indenter rotation axis is shifted by value Δx relative to machined part axis. Displacement value is determined from relationship Δx=(0.26–0.97)·R, where R is radius of machined part.
EFFECT: higher mechanical properties of machined parts due to creation in their metal of gradient nanostructure and reduced processing time.
