FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used for puncture biopsy of volumetric thyroid formations. Pulsooptometry is performed, during which values of pulse oscilation amplitude and optical density of thyroid tissue are determined using a LED optocoupler. At local values in thyroid tissue amplitude of pulse oscilations 9.4–10.6 mm or 34.7–46.52 mm and with local values of thyroid tissue of optical density 13.84–19.44 or 39.6–52.4 puncture biopsy is performed. Needle is held at the cross point of transmitted and reflected beams of the optocouple, in the middle between the radiator and the photodetector, optocouplers located on the thyroid gland, perpendicular to the thyroid tissue.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of sampling by determining pulse oscillations amplitude and optical density of thyroid tissue.
