FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology, and is intended to stimulate and/or improve the production and/or release of hyaluronic acid and/or mucin from the cornea and/or into the cornea. The microemulsion ophthalmic composition contains one or more extracts, or sources of extracts, from the genus Pichia and an ophthalmologically acceptable carrier. The extract from the genus Pichia is Pichia anomala and is present in a concentration of 0.005 to 95% of the total weight of the composition. In this case, microemulsion drops or particles have a maximum size of less than 1,500.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides stimulation and/or improvement in the production and/or release of hyaluronic acid and/or mucin from the cornea and/or into the cornea, which makes it possible to use the composition in the treatment of eye diseases.
