FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Disclosed is a fermenter and a fermentation apparatus for culturing methanotrophic bacteria. Fermenter comprises connected to each other to form closed loop for movement of culture liquid (CL) blocks connected to closed circuit pump, bubbling vessels, mixers, facilities for supplying components of CL, extraction of gases, removal of gases, supply and removal of heat carrier, facilities for measuring parameters of CL. At that, said first and third units are vertically oriented and include the CL tube to be thermostatted. Second and fourth blocks are horizontally oriented to incorporate the vessels with the possibility of CL degassing. Fermentation plant includes said fermenter, as well as water treatment lines, preparation of nutrient medium, preparation of titrating agent, preparation of inoculum, preparation of gas medium, cleaning of off-gases from CO2, separation, sterilization and drying.
EFFECT: inventions provide maintenance of concentration of dissolved CO2 in CL during production of biomass at a level providing for high productivity, and also provide mass exchange between gas and liquid phases in an ascending flow of culture liquid at reduction of consumed energy and increase of fermenter working volume.
