MICROCATHETER HEAD FOR EMBOLISATION, CONTAINING SLIT STRUCTURE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/12 A61M25/00 A61M25/14

Abstract RU 2728692 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to infusion catheters, and more specifically to microcatheters for embolisation, and can be used for blocking aneurysm and reducing tumors in liver, kidney and other organs by injecting one or more substances into a target blood vessel for selective occlusion of blood vessels and to prevent blood supply to a specific area or organ. An embolisation microcatheter comprises an elongated microcatheter body and a microcatheter head. Elongated body is configured to be connected at its proximal end with a reservoir for suspension and with the possibility of passage in it of suspension of particles suspended in suspension fluid medium. Head is connected with distal end of said body and comprises proximal portion of head and distal portion of head. A proximal portion of the head comprises a proximal wall forming a lumen of the proximal portion and having a plurality of through holes. A distal portion of the head comprises a distal wall forming a lumen of the distal portion, and a suspension supply opening at the distal end of the distal end portion. Distal portion does not contain said through holes. Each of the plurality of through holes has such shape and/or size to allow passage of suspension fluid through it, while blocking passage of said particles. Distance between said through holes is set to provide bending radius making at least 0.5 mm to prevent bending of said microcatheter.

EFFECT: invention is characterized by the risk of non-target embolisation risk reduction properties.
