SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method of searching for gas leaks using a test gas sprayer. Gas leak detection device having a test gas spraying device (12) for spraying test gas onto inspected object (20), vacuum unit (30) for creating a vacuum in inspected object (20), wherein vacuum unit (30) includes vacuum pump (26) and gas detector (28) located downstream of inspected object (20) for measurement of test gas portion, and a data analysis device (32) which analyses the measurement signal from gas detector (28), characterized in that between spray device (12) and data analysis device (32) there is data transmission line (34), sprayer (12) is configured to detect at least one time point of the spraying process and to transmit it through the data transmission line (34) to the data analysis device (32), and data analysis device (32) is configured to output the measured portion of test gas correspondingly to the transmitted spraying time moment.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of conducting leak search by one person, reduced consumption of helium.
