METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INCREASING SPECTRAL EFFICIENCY IN WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL OF A LOCOMOTIVE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC H04L12/413

Abstract RU 2728915 C2

FIELD: facilities for remote control of train locomotives.

SUBSTANCE: system comprises: a remote control unit (RCU), comprising a processing device and a computer-readable data medium; and locomotive control unit (LCU), containing processing device and machine-readable data medium, wherein LCU unit is connected to locomotive control system for locomotive control and data collection from it, wherein RCU and LCU units are configured to: transmit variable-length messages over a network, wherein a plurality of locomotives have a common radio-frequency channel, where output variable-length messages are transmitted from an RCU unit to an LCU unit or from an LCU unit to an RCU unit over a common radio-frequency channel to time-varying time intervals, not having a minimum or a fixed duration, and where each transmitting RCU and LCU are configured to independently set the duration of the time slot for the message to be transmitted therefrom, depending on the duration of the message to be sent, and configured to transmit the message to be sent during the minimum required time; monitoring a common radio frequency channel for transmission by a network node, whether RCU or LCU; waiting for release of common radio-frequency channel; and transmitting message after releasing common radio frequency channel, wherein duration of transmitting message time slot is determined by duration of message, and message transfer occurs during minimum required duration of time for message to be sent.

EFFECT: higher spectral efficiency with wireless remote control of locomotives.
