SUBSTANCE: vehicle steering system drive part comprises an electric motor and a control device. Electric motor has winding, which includes connection points for power electronics of control device. Drive part additionally has sensor for liquid registration, which contains evaluation and control unit connected to winding connection points. Evaluation and control unit is designed so that to create a test signal and to register change of impedance.

EFFECT: improved determination of liquid ingress into drive part of steering system.
