FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, specifically to a technology for producing dicobalt octacarbonyl Co2(CO)8, used in particular for producing high-purity metallic cobalt, depositing cobalt-containing coatings, a catalyst for oxosynthesis processes. Reactor is successively loaded with aqueous cobalt (II) acetate, hexane and water with subsequent blowing with nitrogen and supply of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, heating the reaction mixture in a reactor at rate of 10 °C per minute, holding for 60 minutes at pressure of 25–30 MPa and temperature of 170 °C, followed by separation of aqueous and organic phase and separation of dicobalt octacarbonyl from organic phase by low-temperature crystallisation.
EFFECT: low-temperature crystallisation increases output of target product (97_6 % of theoretically possible) and purity thereof.
