FIELD: electricity; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrophysical coating methods and can be used in application of metal and metal-ceramic coatings on metals and alloys for protection against wear, oxidation, corrosion, imparting special physical and electrical properties, as well as for repair recovery of parts sizes. Method of coating on surface of metal and alloy includes evacuation of working space of chamber, supply of argon and stabilization of pressure in chamber in range of 0.05–3 Pa, multiple scanning of treated surface areas by rotating metal or metal-ceramic electrode in touch mode with scanning step not exceeding half of electrode end face diameter dimmer, supply of electric pulses with voltage of 50–150 V with duration of 40–300 mcs and repetition frequency of 50–3,000 Hz between the electrode-cathode and the processed surface areas, with the number of passes over each section of surface 5–20 times.
EFFECT: multiple increase of thickness of electrospark coating while maintaining low surface roughness.
