FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a facility for diagnosing stability of operation of a device with a corona counter for measuring neutron flux in the presence of intense gamma-radiation. In the disclosed method, prior to measurement, placing a crown counter outside the measurement object area and at different power levels of the absorbed dose of gamma radiation, recording the current of the corona counter when it is operating in a corona discharge mode, current of the corona counter during its operation in the mode of the ionisation chamber and count rate of pulses of the corona counter during its operation in the mode of corona discharge at zero value of the pulse discrimination threshold. Further, it is necessary to record the count rate of the corona counter pulses when the corona counter is being measured in the zone of the measurement object during its operation in the corona discharge mode with zero discrimination threshold and currents of the corona counter during its operation in corona discharge and ionisation chamber modes. Further, the obtained data are processed and analyzed.

EFFECT: high efficiency of diagnosing stability of operation of a device with a corona counter for measuring neutron flux by eliminating systematic error of measurements.
