FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modification of surface of articles made from titanium or titanium alloy in vacuum chamber to form microstructured surface. Proposed method comprises heating article to temperature of 700–1000 °C upon application of the negative voltage in range from 30 to 5000, and simultaneously sputtering the surface of the product stream of plasma ions with a current density of 0.05–30 mA/cm2 and with energy 30–5000 eV. Plasma is generated in inert gas medium at low pressure from 5 × 10-2 to 1000 Pa.
EFFECT: development of surface relief is provided, that is formation of micro- and nanostructures on the surface of the article.
