SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compounds of formula I, which can be used in compositions for oral care. In one embodiment, R1 is C7-C17alkyl; R2 is selected from a group, consisting of functional groups and its salts, wherein said salts contain anion X-, preferably selected from a group consisting of acetate, benzoate, besylate, bromide, chloride, chlorotheophillate, citrate, ethanesulphonate, fumarate, gluconate, hippurate, iodide, fluoride, lactate, lauryl sulphate, malate, lyate, mesylate, methylsulphate, napsylate, nitrate, octadecanoate, oxalate, pamoate, phosphate, polygalacturonate, succinate, sulphate, tartrate and tosylate; n is number from 1 to 4 and R3 is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. Invention also relates to an oral care composition containing said compounds, as well as to the use of said compounds in a method of slowing the onset of plaque.
