SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of inhibiting dental plaque in the oral cavity. Method comprises a step of applying a composition containing a compound of formula selected from the group consisting of the following to the oral surface, and salts thereof, wherein said salts contain an anion X-, preferably selected from the group consisting of acetate, benzoate, besylate, bromide, chloride, chlorotheophyllate, citrate, ethanedisulphonate, fumarate, gluconate, hippurate, iodide, fluoride, lactate, lauryl sulphate, malate, layate, mesylate, methyl sulphate, napsylate, nitrate, octadecanoate, oxalate, pamoate, phosphate, polygalacturonate, succinate, sulphate, tartrate and tosylate.
EFFECT: amino acid derivatives and their use are disclosed.
