FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, to testing, diagnostics and operation of pipelines, and specifically to methods for prediction of failure rate of extended pipeline depending on speed of internal corrosion without inspection of pipeline. Method consists in reduction of time and volume of tests at forecasting of failure rate of pipelines on the basis of statistical analysis of depth of corrosion on samples, short-term exposed in pipeline. Technical result is achieved by applying a mathematical apparatus based on statistical methods, which enables to distribute results, obtained on samples of small area, on pipeline as a whole, derive dependence of I corrosion rate on time and calculate intensity of pipeline failures and number of failures for certain period of time.
EFFECT: invention provides forecast of failure rate of extended pipeline depending on speed of internal corrosion without inspection of pipeline.
