FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: crossbow with vertical arrangement of arms and blocks comprises body, first and second units with axes of rotation and peripheral surfaces for arrangement of bow-string and cable. Blocks are installed with possibility of rotation on corresponding holders in planes parallel to plane of housing, on two opposite sides from it. Axes of rotation of blocks are perpendicular to plane of crossbow body. Crossbow has at least one arm, first end of which is fixed on housing, and the second end is configured to move such that when using the crossbow, said at least one arm bends in the plane of the arm parallel to the plane of the body. Cable connects ends of arms and units.

EFFECT: reduction of overall dimensions of a crossbow both in width and height while maintaining its technical characteristics.
