FIELD: mechanical weapons. SUBSTANCE: arbalest comprises stock 1, two flexible arms with string therebetween, triggering device with limiter consisting of trigger 13 and device for holding and releasing the string with two vertical teeth which contact the string, a horizontal projection between them, and support for arrow 9. Arbalest has support post 8 articulated to stock while flexible arms have the form of a plate secured in the middle to front end of arbalest stock. Besides, the plate has arrow support in the form of a hollow in its middle, said support and horizontal shelf for holding and releasing the string being arranged above the upper surface of arbalest stock, protruding above it to the same height. EFFECT: higher stability of string flight and better accuracy of shooting at lower forces applied to string and low speed of arrow flight. 5 dwg
