FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method of using the device for determining rheological properties of concrete. Portable hand-held plaster blade (10) comprises handle (11), blade (12) connected without possibility of rotation to front end (13) of handle (11), sensor means (14) for determining the force acting on blade (12), electronic module (17) for evaluating data collected by sensor means (14), and an electric power source for providing power to the sensor means and the electronic module. Method includes: complete immersion of blade (12) into concrete, manual movement of blade (12) along linear path in concrete at a predetermined distance, selected between 10 and 60 cm, measurement of force acting on blade (12) during its movement in concrete and collection of power data, and evaluation of measured power data and displaying of evaluated results.

EFFECT: technical result is prevention of radial segregation of solid particles present in concrete and possibility of simulating a conventional plaster blade used by workers on a construction site, so that measured data can be correlated with tested subjective "sensations" when inspecting properties of concrete manually.
