DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR PERINATAL HYPOXIC-ISCHEMIC INVOLVEMENT OF THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM IN FULL-TERM NEWBORNS WITH FETAL GROWTH RETARDATION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01N33/49

Abstract RU 2731537 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pediatrics, and can be used for diagnosing perinatal hypoxic-ischemic involvement of the central nervous system in full-term newborns with fetal growth retardation. That is ensured by blood sampling immediately after the umbilical cord is cut off by means of a vacuum system for taking blood without an anticoagulant. Concentration of lactate is determined in whole vein blood from umbilical artery by enzymatic colorimetric method. If the lactate concentration in whole venous blood from the umbilical artery is more than 4.0–4.9 mmol/l, perinatal hypoxic affection of the central nervous system in full-term newborns with fetal growth retardation is diagnosed.

EFFECT: use of the given method enables diagnosing perinatal hypoxic involvement of the central nervous system in newborns accompanying urgent labor complicated by fetal growth retardation.
