FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and specifically to methods of making standard samples for determining weight fraction of heavy metals in agricultural products of plant origin. Method includes introduction into soil of compounds of heavy metals in amount exceeding limit-permissible content for given type of agricultural products, growing agricultural products on sections which are not contaminated and contaminated with heavy metal compounds, sampling products from each section with subsequent drying and grinding to powder state, determination of mass fraction of heavy metal in samples, mixing of clean and contaminated samples in specified amounts to obtain standard sample with specified weight fraction of heavy metal.
EFFECT: obtaining a standard sample of high degree of uniform distribution of heavy metals by volume, which ensures preservation of properties for a long period of time of not less than 1 year.
