SUBSTANCE: described is a group of inventions involving using a composition as a lysing agent contained in whole blood cells, as an agent for stabilizing total RNA in whole blood and for RNA recovery by adsorption from a whole blood mixture with an adsorbent composition for nucleic acids and a method of extracting whole RNA from whole blood. In one embodiment, the composition in the form of an aqueous solution consists of guanidine thiocyanate, at least one buffer substance, at least one non-ionic detergent, ethylene diamine tetraacetate, and optionally proteinase and/or deoxyribonuclease and does not contain decomposition inhibitors and new synthesis of RNA in whole blood.

EFFECT: invention extends the range of products for cell lysis and RNA isolation from whole blood.
