FIELD: biotechnology and medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns preanalytical systems for taking biological material containing a stabilizing medium for storage and transportation of extracellular nucleic acids for the purpose of their subsequent analysis and use of the results obtained in clinical practice. The invention is a medium for collecting, storing and transporting biological samples, where the biological sample containing extracellular nucleic acids to be stored is blood or plasma; where extracellular nucleic acids are extracellular DNA or RNA; containing a release gel, where a thixotropic gel is used as the release gel; and a stabilizing solution containing at least 1 cell membrane fixing agent and at least 1 anticoagulant, where the anticoagulant can function as an ionic stabilizing and/or chelating agent. The invention also relates to a device for collecting, storing and transporting biological samples containing the medium according to claim 1, which is a test tube with a medium according to claim 1, and a stabilizing solution containing a cell membrane fixing agent, which is part of the medium according to claim 1, located above the thixotropic gel and/or the specified thixotropic gel is located under the specified stabilizing solution.

EFFECT: invention can be used to stabilize extracellular nucleic acids for up to 15 days at temperatures from -20 to +37°C and up to 12 months at temperatures from -86 to -20°C.
