SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition applicable as a stabiliser and to a method for stabilising biological samples, in particular, whole blood, in particular, stabilising the content and integrity of nucleic acids. The composition comprises in an aqueous solution or consists of at least one buffer substance buffering to a pH value of 7 or lower, preferably from 3.5 to 7.0, at least one chelating substance for divalent cations, and urotropine, optionally PEG.
EFFECT: creation of a composition applicable for stabilising biological samples.
